The game is already well optimized, and you do know that 60fps existed before DLSS/FSR right?I mean getting a solid 60 or better is important for gameplay feel.
They should take a stand and never add itThey can do both, lots of games added DLSS later.

Hopefully devs start axing Ray Tracing nextI don't like DLSS, it never works correctly. Blurry and artifacts when you move like a video.
I'd rather play at 1080P with everything maxed.
Some? more like the entire industry! It's why PC hardware isn't even being taken advantage of anymore and why PC gaming has gone, and continues to go, down hill.I know that some developers for sure are using upscaling as a crutch, but even if the game has good performance without it,why wouldn't they consider adding it down the line?
Because that defeats the entire purpose of taking a stand?but even if the game has good performance without it,why wouldn't they consider adding it down the line?
You must be trolling? The Finals is 90% empty screen with a few ugly players running around, even with the explosion and demolition gimmick, it still doesn't even have 1/10th of the moving parts that HD2 has.....It's not so well optimized. PS5 can only get 60fps at 1080. The Finals targets 1440p or better, gets pretty consistent 60, looks a lot better, has more players and more dynamic, destructible environments. Not to shit talk Helldiver, but tech is not its strength in any capacity.
Hopefully devs start axing Ray Tracing next
Absolute waste of resources on dev time and the GPU that is simply there to check a box so PC nerds and Digital Foundry warriors doesn't write down their gamesY'all are going after the godsent, low-effort technologies that can make a big difference in visuals without a lot of expensive added production human labor. There's no argument against it, and this position is incredibly hypocritical if you still want AAA prestige Playstation single player games to push the envelope.
Artistic tools in the toolbox. Free extra frames per second. Much less engineering power to include compared with deeper CPU optimization in a 6 years past end of life engine.Absolute waste of resources on dev time and the GPU that is simply there to check a box so PC nerds and Digital Foundry warriors doesn't write down their games

Yeah I'm looking forward to fs3 dramatically improving the image clarity on Steam Deck. Or ya know they could "stand on principle" to keep their game performing worse than it has to.And lower power consumption to boot for a set resolution and framerate. Hopefully Nintendo mandates DLSS for all demanding games on the console for them to pass certification and this ends up with more and more games using DLSS on PC.
Can't see that work well with that piss water ARM CPU. BigLITTLE used on allaged NVIDIA is not suitable for DLSS, that thing gonna sucks a tons of power, which need to throttle to put on 7.5W TDP handheld. And lower power consumption to boot for a set resolution and framerate. No idea what it is lol is it some kind of anti aliasing or somethingDLSS is the absolute WORST thing to ever happen to PC gaming, great on Arrowhead for not utilizing it and ACTUALLY OPTIMIZING THEIR GAME!!
