Hideaki Nishino is a fan of Bloodborne. A bright future for PlayStation and it's fans for East-Asian Games awaits.

We fucking won. Itsuno likes Bloodborne. We will eat good with this Mister handling 3rd Party relationships. The East-Asian renaissance is upon us. Finally back to the roots.

Nice to hear this, but Bloodborne is not a 3rd party game, it's a first party game.

Meaning, potential future Bloodborne content as sequels, remasters/remakes, ports, movie/anime adaptations will be handled by Hermen, not Nishino.

And well, SIE already had Japanese people in charge of 3rd party releations for Japanese companies. Both at the AAA level and indie level.

Isn't he charge of the platform and not the studios?

Unfortunately that plonker herman is in charge of that area.
Hermen is in charge of everything related to their 1st party game IPs: PS Studios (which includes 2nd party games like Bloodborne), Bungie, PlayStation Productions and any other potential adaptation of Sony's game IPs to non-gaming mediums.

Nishino is in charge of the platform: hardware, accesories, PSN, PS+, and 3rd party relations (to sign 3rd party exclusives, marketing deals or PS+, PlayStation Indies, China/India Hero Project and day to day work with 3rd parties).

3rd party games = games not published by Sony
3rd party companies/studios = companies/studios not owned by Sony

Nishino will act as bridge between both. Still 2nd Party is 3rd Party content. Nishino will connect if then Hermen with 3rd Party devs.

No, PS Studios contacts and manages directly the external studios like FromSoft or Kojipro for 2nd party games, this is what the PS Studios XDEV team does.

What it can happened -as happened with Stellar Blade, Convallaria and Lost Soul Aside- is that the 3rd party relation teams could find a new promising team/project when scouting indie stuff via PlayStation Indies, China/India Hero that they think it's worth it to be published by Sony.

In that case XDEV signs the game, funds it, helps to develop it and publishes it as a SIE game. This is what happened with Stellar Blade. You can go to its game credits and you'll see the XDEV Japan (former Japan Studio 2nd party team, who now has their own office in the same building) on its game credits.

But PlayStation Indies, China/India Hero Project are a small part of the 3rd party relations team. Their main job is to handle the day to day with 3rd party publishers: selling them devkits and testkits, managing their PS develeper certification, the submission and certification of 3rd party games to be released, and in some cases signing marketing or exclusivity deals with them.

Meaning, for games published by Sony as would be Bloodborne, XDEV/PS Studios/SIE publishing are the one who work with them. For 3rd party games published by somebody esles, as would be Elden Ring or Armored Cor then is 3rd party relations team who works with them.

It was challenging because it ran like crap hideaki San. Time to release it in proper hardware where most of the souls community is.
Lol it didnt run that bad. It was challengeing because of the obvious souls lile formula and bosses.
A simple remaster/port will do fine, no need for big rerelease.

XDEV is an independent entity. They are part of PS Studios but they sct independently.

No, they are just another PS Studios subsidiary team, a fully owned subsidiary that, like any other fully owner subsidiary in the world, reports and obeys to the orders and strategy from their boss (Hermen) and company (PS Studios, so SIE and Sony) that owns them.

In this case, PS Studios tells them to find and manage outsourcing studios for internally developed games, plus also to manage the publishing and support of 2nd party games they sign.

SIE and PS Studios also have another specific people dedicated to manage their strategy, portfolio, content and deals for both 1st (including 2nd) and 3rd party.

In case of 3rd party, in the Sony the deals were signed -in the document, the rest of the job was made by somebody else- by the CEO of SIE (Jim Ryan, now Nishino). In case of 2nd party, the deals were signed by the CEO of SIE and the PS Studios head (which now in both cases is Hermen).
