Only turn based with good actual strategy are the FF tactics games and Tactics Ogre, I actually enjoy that kind of turn based since a lot more engaging then selecting attack/cure every random battle.
Fire Emblem is also good, but only the older games. The new ones are way too casualised.

Stop....ff15 was awful and ruined the final fantasy IP as a whole. It's much less of an ff game than 16, you must've not played either.
For me, the fall began with FF 12, I was so excited about it and then... massive disappointment. Empty, linear cities, combat was meh and the game required a lot of grinding, summons were hard to defeat and underpowered once you acquire them ( I remember letting Mateus loose in the Rabanastre sewers on those frogs and he died in 2 hits lol), the story was lacking, the game had the color pallette of Vagrant story ( gray and yellow were the main colors) it felt like a grindy MMO.
FF hasn't been real turn-based since FF7 fam. ATB is not turn based, it's real time combat with pause in menus.
If you like the narrative and spectacle the most from Final Fantasy, you are going to love it. It's an incredible game and the best FF experience since FFX, imo.
