True but the game has so much charm and many activities to do. My son is 15 and he sat next to me watching me play and was like "oh dad you see the pictures moving, oh look at the statues fighting, etccc" then we shared doing certain activities. It's fun and like watching a Harry Potter movie. I'm sure your son would enjoy watching you play and you should split the missions/activities so you can both play.

Summary - Great game whether your a Harry Potter fan or not. Combat fits the fantasy but may be a but repetitive for some people, but that's more of a subjective matter. Overall, I liked the combat.
I thought the enemy variety was lacking and the boss fights were underwhelming and boring.
Exploration is fun. Hogwarts Castle itself is amazing, it's like it's own character. Room of Requirement and the whole pet thing was great. Kind of wish there was a Harry Potter farm sim now haha.
A game that any RPG fan or a game MUST play this year imo.
Tons of good opportunities for awesome cosmetic and expansion DLC. But I prefer a sequel or some sort of a Standalone addition.
