Don't fall into the FUD like certain folks who still believe Rift Apart only sold 1 million copies on PS5 and lost money until it got the PC port (both of which are patently false).

I wouldn't be surprised if Returnal has hit at least 1 million by this point, and no matter how you look at it, the game's still Housemarque's biggest success commercially. It's also a new IP in a genre that isn't exactly mainstream. The game is successful.
Sony themselves said the game was a hit in their eyes. People were so desperate to make every PS5 exclusive seem like a sales bomb because Xbox simply didn't launch with or had any exclusives for a whole year.

Sucks if true! Ppl are saying its related to a comic.

Yes.
Returnal only sold 500k copies. That's far from a big success.
Until early February 2022 (so in around 9 months), including physical it sold over a million, being only 39% of these copies digital:

We also saw more recently it sold over 500K only in PSN (not counting physical, not counting PC) as of Summer of last year. And well, will continue selling over years.

Love how people are reacting like it is a comic book because dark horse put eyes emoji meaning that they're looking forward to seeing what they announce tomorrow.

If they were directly involved they would have just retweeted it or put like a fire emoji or something.

Also why would xdev be involved in a comic book...

People get irrationally angry over literally nothing, less than nothing...

I'm honestly fine with whatever they do.

If we get a new difficulty, new content update / VR introduction in Returnal that would be very much welcomed.

If it's a comic book or a Novel it means they are focusing on the new IP completely, and I'll probably read the comic as well especially if its got cool art or something.

Twitter hype announcements like this shouldn't be used for comic books, all it does is blue ball the fans.

but no seriously returnal, while an amazing game, is probably as much of a needle mover as, say, hellblade 2 will be. only difference is how much time and money they took to make.

I mean, that's a pretty significant difference... The other factor is that Returnal never had to carry the PS5.

When Hellblade fails to move the needle it'll be just one more game that failed to move the needle. That wasn't the narrative for Returnal and it is why Microsoft can't overcome the drought that they're in.

Every game that Microsoft releases is either game of the generation or a failure. There's never going to be any in between from now on. That's enormous pressure and reminds me of Pokemon on the Gameboy.

The Gameboy was pretty much dead in the water but then Pokemon came around and revived it. Then they released the gameboy color and this set them up well for the Gameboy Advance.

Right now the Xbox is a dead brand and they desperately need a game like Pokemon, but their odds of that are so much more unlikely in this day and age but it is possible, being available on PC though is a hindrance for them to sell systems.

Still my favorite game of the generation, but charging $70 for it hurt its potential. Not saying it isn't worth $70 but at $40-$50, this game would've got the recognition it deserved.

This game also proved that no one really cares about subscription services, and putting a game on a sub service only really devalues it.

Exactly, yet Sony is following them for some very obscure reasons.

Sony doesn't need system sellers on a system that sells well whether they release games or not...

Sony and Microsoft are not in the same situation.

Sony didn't need Helldivers 2 to be a smash hit. They didn't need it to be a PlayStation 5 system seller. If anything though the success the game had on PC probably drove MORE software sales on consoles and perhaps even more console sales.

When Microsoft releases a game that's on PC, especially PC GamePass on Day 1. There is little to no incentive to buy an Xbox to play it hence why Xbox isn't selling but PlayStation is. Especially in Asia and in Europe, but now even in North America.

Sony and Microsoft's strategy appear similar or the same to many here, but they couldn't be more different. Ultimately it's lazy analysis based purely on fanboyism and the idea that fanboys are being slighted in some way. They're convinced that they'll eventually be proven right, despite that not being the case today, despite this strategy being in place for 3 years.

Subscription services by nature devalue the content, but how was it proved that no one cares about subscription services?

Looks like it is in fact a comic book and an art book. Looks like Comic Con Finland broke the news sooner than Housemarque had planned.

We'll see if there is anything additional planned.

critical thinking is not your strong suit, we know.

what Dark Horse does? Comics, Art Books, Novel, Game Guides... so what else it can be?
mind blow wow GIF

I love how you take people saying it will only be a comic book and now with confirmation that an artbook is involved acknowledge that they do more than just comic books, but also ignore everything else that they do...
