Greetings to all our members and readers, I hope everyone is enjoying all the new releases and have plenty to play over the winter.
Over the last few weeks, I have received many messages over moderation and issues surrounding how issues have been handled. I looked into the matters and have decided on a course of action.
I have decided that we currently have 2 moderators that have consistently made consistent and fair calls on 99% + of situations that arise and are very well suited to the positions... those are @TubzGaming and @BloodMod .
This means we have only 2 active moderators for the forum, so I will be trying to recruit a third moderator to compliment our existing staff.
In regards to moderation, I only act as an oversight element and to sign off on bans. If someone feels that any moderation calls are unfair or may have been misjudged etc. they can message me directly here or on discord.
The Founder tag does not give any moderation privileges and is basically very similar to paying Extra, except for some say in the overall direction of the site.
In terms of ban-able offenses, there are only a few sure ways to get a ban: namecalling, personal insults, racism and other hate-speech.
Terms such as 'port-begging' are not bans but continuously using the term to simply get a rise out of someone is not acceptable and moderation will be applied at the appropriate level. We want bans to be a last resort, as we have a great community and losing anyone hurts us all.
Other notes / recent changes;
Twitter: We have 1 IconEra (Posts Links) Twitter account. These Twitter accounts generally retweet news and tweet out our latest threads for visibility.
No other accounts are speaking on behalf of Icon-Era, I have deleted my own Twitter due to people miss-characterizing my tweets there and trying to use it for their own agenda and against Icon-era. For the record, I am not Icon-era, Icon-era is the community and a place full built on different opinions and views.
Many thanks to everybody who has been posting and participating in the site, whether it is just reading or liking a comment or writing the major threads, we value you all and we do not take anyone for granted contrary to other sites.
