Personally I always made sure to not buy any game that was ever part of one of these services unless it's was dirt cheap, I use trial codes or wait until they start giving it away. They only thing I lose when using trials is Xbox gamescore that I couldn't care any less about.
To me it's pretty easy, I'm not dying to play any indie games, there are like 3 or 4 releases each year that I actually care about and none of them were ever part of a service day one.
