That was obvious when Phil was literally repeating what the people on Era were saying about the xbox ports (about bringing people to Xbox for a hifi rush sequel etc)

It's clear that The Verge and WindowsCentral are clearing houses for internal leaks. Additionally I'm a little shocked at how blatantly Jeff Grub is shilling for MS lately. I think maybe some of these other twitter dipshits are getting cut off which is why they're melting down online more than anything to do with actual news.

Videogame reporting is not journalism, it's enthusiast advertising and PR.

He said that? How? If no one bought an xbox for the 1st game, why would they for the sequel?

He said something to that effect on the podcast last week. I don't want to look for it because I can't stand his mouth and face when he speaks 🤢

It didn't work for Sony and God of War and he thinks it will work with 6k CCU Hifi Rush 🤡

No shit Sherlock, many of us said those leaks were controlled leaks to create fear about worst case scenarios so that Phil Spencer could come out and deliver the bad news that weren’t actually that bad anymore because of the rumors.

And they don’t even look smart doing it either, Phil Spencer and co actually end up picking up copium and hopium talking points from the community without committing to anything concrete. It’s just so in your face that actually it’s the community that ends up looking like a pack of clowns for buying what they are selling.

its blatantly obvious if you pay attention, most enthusiast discussion revolves around them despite them being the least relevant competitor.
Yeah this is an extremely important point. Xbox is irrelevant to the market. Globally barely anyone cares about Xbox. Yet somehow everything they do is important, everything they do has lots of discussion.

So many people want to be videogame influencers and have daily youtube shows and podcasts and shit, but there's not 2 hours worth of videogame news every day. MS (also Epic) is more friendly to these people than Sony, Nintendo, or Valve, so they get more positive coverage, and more people feel empowered to speculate about what MS is gonna do next than the others. The influencers resent the others because they don't let them into the club and make them feel important.

Xbox grifters or “Content creators” rely on this bs for content. Otherwise they would have to actually do some work, like reading, investigating, being aware of trends, be analytical. Nintendo, PlayStation and Steam/PC combined don’t have the same amount of illiterate dimwits doing three to four hour shows, how can that be? Doing “super chats” where monkey brains spend 5$ a comment to get their console war PS hating comment read by some idiot.
