Demographics have to be a little worrying for PS in the long term... 5% of userbase under the age of 20, so they need to knock it off with the censorship. We're all adults here.

What are the odds of that, though? There are hundreds of these games and how many did succeed? Several?
Turn that on its head, how many video game companies stick to "the same old thing" forever and get long-term success? How many Capcom 2D platformers have been big hits lately? How many Konami shmups have been successful recently? Name a big budget 2D platformer that's come out in the past ten years and isn't Mario. Times change, company output changes too. Having "old-style" stuff is fine but you can't just do that, you do have to move forward and create new experiences too.

They got the data to back up the Live Service pivot. No game company Suit is gonna look at live services and look at their shareholders and say "nah we good " :ROFLMAO:

I'm disappointed so few "live service" games are actually innovating on the core networking. We were promised MMO-like experiences where these massive open worlds from the PS4 era would be instanced with other people you can join or fight or ignore. This was the promise of Anthem. It was teased by Journey. It was delivered in peak form with Destiny. But there should be a lot more games like this in different genres.

I like The Finals, but it's just a multiplayer game. It's paired up matches like any online game from the 360 era.

Damn Nintendo got the < 20 demographic, and females on lock.

I also see a greater share of females on Xbox, respectively - but that is just my eyesight. Marketing has a job to do with brand perception in that regard, specially the female demographic. At least Nintendo getting a big share of the under 20's is explainable and goes beyond marketing to also product offerings that are tailored towards that demographic. Gonna be a male dominated hobby but still....

GTA is like the Sun on that graph. Jaysus.
