Eh price is not a problem, those mf has operating profit of 60B a year.

The problem is the operating costs, that is like a ticking bombs. Once COD lose its relevancy, that bomb gonna blow off.

people just think, you spend more money, earn more money. That is not how life works, albeit.
Price is what has drawn attention to Xbox more than anything. It brings the attention of the investors into what this level of investment is being spent on and what potential returns they will get.

Thats why for the first time in years they had to be open with profitability with the losses incurred rather than obfuscating and hiding numbers like they have for years while investors didn't care

Make no mistake, the moment that Xbox start affecting Microsoft share prices in a negative way is the end of the road and when it was clear what a disaster this first report would be, they ruthlessly cut 1900 people to get ahead of the investor reaction

So they had that massive loss on a quarter where CoD released?

You think they don't mind overpaying significantly on acquisitions?

I think it's pretty clear that Nadella is cracking down on Xbox wasteage, especially when it brings in so little.

Wouldn't be surprised if all ABK games are multiplatform day one bearing the cost of the acquisition, and declining sales of Xbox consoles.

MS was definitely banking on the Apple storefront being open bringing Gamepass & Xbox games to a major platform (essentially continuing to leech of other platforms as usual) w that no longer being an option I don’t see how GP can grow substantially to the scale of there publisher acquisition which is worth 85+ billion. Starfield being a flop & the next major game by Zenimax Elder Scrolls releasing 2027/2028 maybe later & Blizzard game being cancelled, Blizzard next major game is probably Diablo 5 which is 5 to 6 years off unless MS pushed Diablo 5 faster giving Diablo 4 hasn’t had the longest leg. COD will be COD maybe it degrades if those rumor of MS using contractors for COD is very concerning the COD machine takes a lot of dev power a lot of studios & a ton of money really hard to cut COD down & design it to a “gamepass game” without degrading it & pissing off fans which can backfire like Halo
I don’t if even if Apple Store front were open ppl would run to play Xbox games on a phone. They tried that it was there big strategy push at the start of this gen an it was doa. Ppl will play big budget triple games on a handheld but they will no do it on a phone. Those types of games weren’t made to be consumed that way. Xbox has been too focused on doing everything else but selling Xbox hardware. The moment they bought zenimax they fcked up. Making all that content exclusive with out the install base to support it was never feasible then they double down on that strategy with abk. Huge L! PS bought small studios and double the size of their content offerings for a fraction of the price. Sony playing chess and Microsoft is playing eating crayons in the corner.

I could see some of Xbox smaller studios being scrapped or just turn into support teams for other projects. Despite it size now Xbox is still outsourcing to crystal, Eidos and other studios for first party content. Compulsion, inxile I could see being the first to go.
