I know this dumbfuck is banned, but I'm sure it doesn't take a genius to understand that object permanence in saved states, especially cell based, has little to no impact on processing power unless your engine is absolute shit. Only a broken engine will force new physics calculations for an object that's standing still in the game world, since it's position will be sorted (X, y, z axis).

This shit has been done before by AAA games (RDR2) and Indies (Project Zomboid) successfully. Hell, in No Man's Sky, your mineral extractors not only stay in a designated planet within a universe with 18 quintillion, but they also extract while offline. It doesn't make your CPU crap out just because an object exists somewhere permanently, nor it breaks the game when you finally decide to go back and collect.

Anyway, yeah it could also be their crap engine but the Series S has now factually been proven to mess up development. Even MS' own engineers couldn't figure out how to make BG 3 run cop-op on it. It's not hard to imagine that it also affects performance.

I don't know anything about engines that shit would fly over my head he was entertaining with his clowness though shame he's banned was getting some good laughs 🤣

There's zero doubt in my mind that the Series S is the reason for that particular "creative decision". Same for Redfall. The idea of the S being used as a baseline for games going forward is absolutely ridiculous. I suspect the reason the parity clause exists is because MS knew right from the start that there were serous issues with the S. They sold it anyway, lied to customers about what it could do, and have now had to publicly walk back on that clause in the case of BG3. Of course, they only did that once they were mocked for unintentionally giving Sony a third-party exclusive. As usual, their paying customers seem to have no relevance in these decisions.

To answer your question, though, all they have is taking away multi-platform games from gamers on PS and Ninendo...and that's about it. Game Pass isn't for everybody, their first-party output is abysmal compared to their competitors, and they keep shooting themselves in the foot (eg. Series S). My only hope for the upcoming years is that they don't cause more harm to the industry than they already have.

Performance in video games is a huge battle in game development and the nature of Bethesda's games makes it very difficult to guarantee consistent high framerates. Their games have a huge scope and additional features that devs sacrifice to achieve to achieve performance. Starfield also comes with additional graphical effects and higher-quality textures both of which have an effect on performance.

yep, just like yourself, the mods are extremely tolerant and like to give people a wide birth with the benefit of the doubt, but his last thread was clearly bait just to antagonize a lot of Ps5 people.

We just ask people to be a bit more considerate and it's a shame that they take that freedom and use it as a method to troll.
