Naughty Dog wanted to make the Multiplayer. They even said they wanted to compete with the big boys Battlefield & COD when they made Uncharted 3 Multiplayer back in the day.

As for Factions it was initially meant to be bigger but they kept rebooting it since it wasn't up to their liking, but definitely not an accident.

Yeah tht bs about Sony devs shouldn't add mp components was hilarious, fallacious talk especially considering that what made UC2 and TLOU such big hits and added to their value were the insanely good mp components. Now ppl wished abd bitch the remakes don't get remade mps. Those series mps can go against any of the so called goto mps and win in overall quality.

Uncharted 3 Multiplayer remains my GOAT playstation multiplayer. In my opinion probably top 5 best of that generation. These games just happened on the wrong system. If it was PS4 era when they had that multiplayer push, they would have had so many hits.

I mean they still were mega hits, they were million dollar sellers that made PS4 be tht wanted hot item. Because of those games, their campaigns but also their mp portions the righted the PS3 ship.

No doubt Faction 2 is undergoing changes and revision, but to say it's cancelled? Yeah, unless the cancelation comes from the mouth of Neil or Sony then as of right now the game is still under development all this time. What Faction 2 can do is give us more modes for one.
