It seems Deviation games got another big hire from the Black Ops team

What? I thought Devition had made some statement about not neccessarilly making COD-like games? I remember making the comment at the time I didn't understand why hire people applauded for this work, and have them work on something different, that you were hiring the talent/experience, which was somewhat lost when working on not their prior forte.

So Deviation 'are' working on FPS to one day rival COD now, yeah? lol

They can get COD devs and still make a unique FPS though

They already have a lot of former CoD staff talent. And also former devs for many other top AAA games including many top shooters.

Talented and experienced devs can work in basically any type of game. As I remember, we don't know what their game is going exactly to be, other than it's a AAA GaaS new IP. Maybe it isn't a FPS, or not even a shooter.

The point is that a team with very talented and experienced staff who made top games in the past is way more likely to make a hit than a team full of unexperienced newbies in gamedev or at least in this type of games.

I’m really curious what they’re upto. Titanfall fell, and that was basically the COD people, whereas Apex is a mega hit. Where to go with a new fps?

TBF, TitanFall kind of got shafted and may not've had the best release window, not to mention the problems with the XBO that were quickly manifesting and acting like an anchor on all games regardless of their quality.

If TitanFall had a platform holder with a healthier brand and public image at the time of its release, and clear focus/direction, it could've been a genuine IP of some moderately successful size.

Titanfall wasn’t a BR. Apex is. That’s why titanfall didn’t grab… look where Vanguard is now… trailing both Cold War and Halo on Xbox. And honestly… that’s horrible.

Hold on! I was told by someone that they were doing a 3rd person game.... that made no sense to me.

This studio is tailor made for a new COD-like FPS. Using it for anything else is a kinda weird.... almost a waste.

Sort of off topic but remember when titanfall 1 was supposed to be the next call of duty and save Xbox one and it didn’t save it for even a month? I kind of feel like this activision deal is titanfall 1 but on a much grander scale. Anyways really curious what these guys are up to.
