I guess a combination of luck, connections and being good at it. I agree, he has been in everything.
Versatility, professionalism and talent. I remember reading that Kevin Conroy was floored by how quickly sessions went for Troy when he played The Joker in Batman: Assault on Arkham. He said Troy could go a whole day without blowing a single take, which is absolutely amazing for any actor to pull off.
No blown takes=less studio time to complete his part=huge savings for the production
