Looks like the average is around 40-50k a week now for the PS5
Xbox Series consoles being beat by the PS4 again, call your senator now.
Seems like PS5 still sells what they have on store.

I mean, if they sustain those kind of numbers, that is over 2 million annually. Which is amazing for Japan.... could really outpace PS4 and hit over 12 million.

I do love InstallBase eating it own narrative that PS5 was available everywhere in Japan in the last weeks saying they can buy anytime in Amazon.jp.
And we get the news that Amazon worked on invite list to buy PS5 until last week and just this week started to sell to people without invite.
And they were not that stocked either.

It's a really hard trend to revert without a proper portable solution.
And the aging population of course but I don't think PS4 ever really satiated demand fully. I think they never hit the ceiling on home consoles before in Japan, so I still think they can hit 15.
I might be wrong but they should still try IMO. Nothing to lose.

That's a good average. If they hold even 40K weekly for the rest of the year that's 1.64 million between now and end of December, in addition to whatever's been sold from earlier in the year.
Definitely an alt account. That brainlet hasn't even figured that 3P Switch software sales are practically non-existent; it's ONLY Nintendo's own games charting in the Top 10 regularly.
I think that's rather interesting for a whole other type of discussion.

It's like they're trying to take the Series S anecdotal stories from the past 2 years (that always noted them constantly being in stock, and tying that to poor sales) and trying to apply that to PS5 in Japan to protect their Switch dominance fantasy.
Except those Series S anecdotal stories were backed up in actual sales data, meanwhile PS5 is breaking sales records and pacing ahead of PS4 and PS3 in Japan. And funny enough they always run to the software sales, but fail to mention that the only Switch software that regularly charts in the Top 10 are Nintendo's own games. In fact 3P Switch games in the Top 10 is a rarer site than PS5 games in the Top 10!
