It’s still funny to watch the folks over at IB and reee scramble to downplay PS5’s success in Japan now that the stock situation is much better. Just looking over at amazon jp PS5 is sold out and still top 2 so demand is not slowing down.

Yes, it's the people that lived in the media create threads, shitting and downplaying Sony all day long in their echo chamber until the mods had enough.

They made their own place called Install Base. It's not PS friendly there but they get along very well with the Xbox fans.

That's funny considering Nintendo was the one who screwed up royally with third party devs. They left Nintendo because of how strict their policy's were and how they didn't switch over to CDs. Sony saw an opening for themselves and went straight for it. No one should blame SONY for that since Nintendo is the one that didn't read the room. All the signs were there and they ignored it.

I'm more than sure some Nintendo fans also blame Sony for "forcing" Nintendo to stop making traditional consoles after the Gamecube.

Basically, in that dynamic, Microsoft is like the ugly best friend. The pretty & popular one (Nintendo), gets to look more virtuous and better by keeping the ugly best friend around, and they also know their position will never be seriously challenged by the ugly best friend. That's likely how some Nintendo fans really feel about Microsoft & Xbox.

Nintendo didn’t just take their time bringing the SNES to the west, SEGA released the Mega Drive in Japan in 1988, and the Super Famicom wasn’t released until 1990.

The Genesis released in the US a full year before the Japanese release of the Super Famicom, in 1989! They only had NEC’s bungled TurboGrafx launch to deal with for two years before the SNES was launched in the US.
