Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of November 6, 2023 to November 12, 2023.

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of November 6, 2023 to November 12, 2023.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name was the highest selling new release of the week, opening at 63,319 sales on PlayStation 5 and 60,134 sales on PlayStation 4 for an opening week total of 123,453 retail copies sold.

Also new last week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launched at 22,132 sales on PlayStation 5 and 8,962 sales on PlayStation 4, totaling at 31,094 retail copies sold.

On the hardware side, the PlayStation 5 family sold 107,953 units, the Switch family sold 79,147 units, the Xbox Series family sold 2,578 units, and the PlayStation 4 family sold 1,330 units. The new, slimmer PlayStation 5 model launched on November 10.

Kadokawa is on the protected companies list in Japan as a cultural pillar of the country due to their long history in publishing. If they can make a few extra yen by pimping the Japanese release of COD, let them.
