Kepler - There's two SoCs in development for next-gen PlayStation, not sure if it's a Series X/S situation or home console + handheld

It can be both base PS6 and PS6 Pro, or base PS6 and PS Player successor (now a PC handheld).

The handheld when connected to the tv could act as Series-S like entry/lower horsepower tier console.

Considering the inflation from 2020 until late 2027 or 2028, I think would be priced $500 the portable, $600 the base home console one (disc drive sold separatedly focused on BC, could even be the same PS5 one).

Some time later, $700 the PS6 Pro and $700 the standalone PSVR3.

If that's true then Japan could be saved. The PS5 + PS6 games will obviously run on lower resolution and framerates, but that wouldn't be a issue for Japanese who are playing on Nintendo Switch. This is a chance for Sony to win back some ground. It will be literally the most potent handheld + AI and PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution.

Release just a portable and slow down the graphics arms race. Look at what we are getting as a result: lead times long AF. Few risks taken. Remasters and remakes up the wazoo...

By releasing just a portable and re structuring the studios Sony can get back to the creative output of the PS1 through early PS3 eras.

A small subset of enthusiasts might migrate to PC but the proposition of portable FUT is a lot more tempting to the silent majority of gamers.

I can see PS6 being a Hybrid console. There's no need to push for MOAR TERAFLOPS anymore. And I don't think developers will stop releasing games on PS5 even 10 years from now. It will be a total cross gen

Well if it's a powerful PS6 console and a handheld as well then sure why not! (y)
