Kotaku: Concord budget was $200M which did not include marketing, the sale of IP rights or the acquisition of the studio

and they wonder why their margins are tight... surely because they're not releasing more PC games, right?, RIGHT?

Why does it bother you? Always defending Sony. Do you have shares in them?

Where is the defense?

If you gonna add acquisitions costs to a game then add the electricity bills, rent and free lunches too.

I guess Marathon will cost 4 billion to make since it cost 3.5 billion to acquire Bungie.

Call of Duty Black Ops cost 75 billion if you include acquisition cost.

Nonsense and you know it.

No one is defending Firewalk and Sony here. The game was a disaster financially.

That's already included. Try a new one.

Cost of studio/number of IPS= average cost of IP
Call of Duty Black Ops cost 75 billion if you include acquisition cost.
Microsoft didn't buy call of duty, they bought Activision Blizzard King. Completely different from buying a studio with one game to their name
Nonsense and you know it.
Your posts are nonsense and you're trying to deflect and dilute the subject as per your orders and payments. I would have more respect if you admitted to being an ambassador for Sony.

I don't know why anyone gives them clicks. I'd rather cut my finger off that click one of their links.

Talk about clutching at straws. What you said is irrelevant.

When have acquisition cost EVER been added to a games total development cost other than Concord?

Never.

Using your nonsense logic, Sony bought Destiny for 3.5 billion since Bungie only has one game.

Destiny was two games. Only the 1.75 billion a pop.

The Concord IP rights alone was another 200 million on top of the acquisition costs. The marketing was probably 150 million, who knew Playstation twitter posts, a few trailers and a couple youtube adds were so expensive, plus probably another 100 million for the Amazon episode, add on another 100 million for the controllers that are so cheap to make and some sweatshop merch, you're looking at another 50 million.

I think the real budget is around 800 million, can't forget all these devs were making 200k every month 🤣
You forgot about the hair products used by staff. That stuff isn't cheap. +150 million dollars.

You said Microsoft paid 75 billion for cod, which was bollocks.
The cost of the studio, when calculating the cost of their only IP and how much that flop cost has always included the cost of the studio. Even when Rare were bought by Microsoft, the same argument is made.

If you're just going to talk shit, don't reply to me.
Sony did pay 3.5 billion for destiny people even said that when they purchased it.

Stop talking shit.

You still haven't denied if you're paid by Sony.

I guess when you buy the studio and they deliver not one game even, but a catastrophe. The total sunk cost then is valid.

Well you see usually a game sticks around for more than two weeks and you don't have to refund all copies sold. Also studios make more than one game in their life. Here they made one and two months later it's dead. But it's okay if you don't understand it now you'll understand it next year when you'll see Astro Bot on Steam. Got to recoup that money somehow.
