i guess? I've played loads of crpgs. 9/10 crpgs are made by double A studios or indie studios. So they don't have the budget necessary.

I'm different when it comes to hyped games. If it’s a genre im not really into, i wont play it or touch it at all. Like Elden Ring. I hate souls games. Tried playing Dark Souls Remastered and Dark souls 3. Just too boring, way to combat focus. Elden Ring was praised to the moon. Still didn't touch it because i don't like those type of games. Same story with Hi Fi Rush. I'm not a hype beast

Hating something you’ve tried and staying away from something similar is completely different from trying something you’ve never experienced before. No matter how good Forza Motorsport is, I’ll never play it because I know I don’t like Forza MS. But there’s nothing wrong with trying something new and it doesn’t make you a hype beast. Pretending to like something you’ve no interest in is what makes someone a hype beast. Most people can’t dislike CRPGs if they’ve never played them.

I also don’t like Souls games but I still tried out Sekiro because it was different enough from other FromSoft games (unlike Elden Ring) and I ended up loving it. It also definitely deserved GOTY that year.

I mean final fantasy 16 will probably do well at the emmy's this years. I'm fairly certain it's a better motion picture than oppenheimer the mario movie and barbie. I mean those were the only noteworthy movies I even remember coming out this year so yeah it'll probably do well at the emmy's or grannie awards or whatever other show I'm told I'm supposed to get excited for.

FF16 definitely has the best music of any game this year. BG3 felt really weak after playing it. Beware of watching the vid since contains spoilers, but this song/fight was great:

I platinum’d the game, I liked it, specially after acquiring all the eikonic powers, but it’s not my GoTY.

I really want FF16 to win, not only is it the GOTY but it would also piss off all the super obsessed haters like @ethomaz @Vertigo . It’s weird how emotionally invested people are in seeing this game be a massive failure.

But sadly I don’t think it will win, the non stop FUD around it due to it being a timed PS5 exclusive is working against it.

With that being said, I think BG3 is a shoe in to win. Universally praised unorthodox game like It Takes Two. And it deserves it, BG3 is my #2 favorite game after FF16.

Sales are below what of expect from a FF game indeed.

BTW it is not a GOTY for me... my score was 8.5/10... there are too many flaws in the game and a really bad pace issue after Bahamut battle.

I have not played the game personally but when I compare feedback to what I see in reviews and videos, this game has very little chance vs Baulders Gate 3.

Yeah the music is awesome In FF16. One of my favourites. Its Fire Emblem 3 Houses on quality steroids

Diablo IV was right up there too before it got Blizzarded to hell. What a wild year, two CRPGs duking it out for GotY in the decade's greatest gaming year.
