When baldurs gate 3 won goty last year saw lots of disrespectull comments from presumably millenials and gen z and the game still getting dissed alot despite winning goty comments like

" who plays this top down game"

"turn based game are shit"

"Only nerds and boomer play this game"

"Spiderman 2 or Resident Evil 4 Remake shouldve won"

"Spiderman 2 lost to this mobile game"

"Slow ass game boring "

"What the hell you wait for turns in this game "

Shows the genre is still isnt widely popular and the younger audience arent exactly familiar with this type of game...well at least until now when baldurs gate 3 put the genre into new heights..

Gona be honest the game does have some really weird stuff going on in there that i dont like...if thats what you dont like...i can understand and agree on...

Greedy people will chase the money, seeing games like this and helldivers 2 succeed like that will make greedy people re-evaluate their milking strategy.

15 million is amazing for a game of this type.

When you look at how Capcom released DD2, it's obvious that Larian has some serious expertise. Cost management being a critical one, while maintaining superior quality.

So Im looking forward to them making a new ip and kinda having total freedom. Hopefully the combat will be the same and the RPG’s mechanics will be just as good or even better. Ill be there day 1 if the combat is the same

Steam carried the game, with almost 1 million concurrent players, the game sold absolutely best on Steam.

PS5 seems to have sold okay, but nowhere near Steam.

Anything else is pure console warriorism at it's finest.

It actually sold 2,5 million while in early access and right before release, Steam had it at 60k reviews, now it's over 500k Steam reviews.
