Lets discuss the looming PlayStation showcase

Im expecting a bunch of repeated games, and stuff we have already seen. Maybe 1-2 new exclusives.

The Playstation shows have been pretty awful for me since like 2018? Apart from maybe the PS5 reveal.
Not expecting anything from them, the 3rd party show was total wack.

Show me loads of 1st party and 3rd party exclusives. Not interested in the rest, Im interested to see why I bought a PS5

I also find it pretty weird that Sony didn't bother finding a studio to take over the Uncharted IP.

Especially with the movie doing well, Im sure they will now.
I just hope they don’t use Naughty Dog’s main teams for it.

Insomniac has like 2-3 teams? Im sure Naughty Dog can do the same.
Didn’t Neil say they have a team working on something outside of TLOU Factions and TLOU Remake? Something not revealed. I hope its not a Uncharted game though

the ps5 launch date was revealed on September 16th, 2020 and Launched November 12th, 2020, Do you think it is possible for PSVR to be revealed next month and actually launch this November of is 2023 a lock by now?

Its certainly possible, i think the safe bet is qtr 1 next year.

But who knows, they could try and get it out for the holiday sales

If ND shows up with Uncharted 5 after TLoU multiplayer I'll be extremely disappointed unless they have a completely different take on the franchise (like my suggestion of setting it during the Golden Age of Piracy).

Good news is that Druckmann is def not working on Uncharted rn. He said a while back he wasn’t sure if he wanted to make Part 3 or a new IP. He and Wells have said they as a studio want to make a new IP but also keep both Uncharted and TLOU going too. Have it all. Escayg co-directed and co-wrote Uncharted Lost Legacy, so he’s possibly the guy they’ll ask to make another Uncharted game. Probably LL2 idk.

My bet is we’ll see Druckmann announce a new IP and later we’ll find that Escayg is making more Uncharted. While TLOU Online is handled by the multiplayer team. They can keep both their current IPs alive and make a new one.

I didn't like Lost Legacy very much, definitely a step back from Uncharted 4. To me it exposed how good of a character Nathan Drake is an how much he caries the series and they made Chloe really boring with this game.

I enjoyed Lost legacy more than Uncharted 4. I bought the ps5 upgrade and couldn’t even get through it again, i find it to be such a slog.

Lost Legacy being shorter and more set piece and puzzle heavy helped a lot, it felt like the trilogy. Part 4 was way too padded with the flashbacks. Bringing back Nathan would be a mistake after the last game.

Bringing back uncharted this gen would be a mistake.

To me Uncharted 4 the best one and Lost Legacy ain't it.

The story is the main appeal of the series as far as I'm concerned, followed by the crazy production value and attention to details. The puzzles are there just for pacing and combat against random goons is usually the most boring part (but got a lot better over time).

I mean Ill only be ok with another Uncharted if its not from their main team. I loved U4, Lost Legacy and TLOU2 but the main team needs to work on a new IP. Let the other teams make an Uncharted game.

Golden Age of Piracy would be amazing. They could do so much with it and more in later instalments. That would probably be my 1st choice now that you bring it up. Can you imagine them doing there signature style rollercoaster like action scenes on pirate boats and shizzle lol. The whole escape from the Island at the end of TLOU2 was awesome, I wanna see what they can do next

But TBH, as long as its the 2nd/3rd Naughty Dog team, Id be excited regardless if its a Pirate prequel, Nathan prequel, Sully or Nathans daughter traveling the world, doing more tomb raider like explorations etc

I think with the movie success and a 2nd one being made, they will probably think Its a mistake not to make another Uncharted game.
As long as the main team makes a new IP, I wouldn’t mind. Otherwise I would be pissed.
By the time U5 comes, it will have been 7-8 years since U4

Same. Combat was the best one, the action scenes were great and obviously the best graphics, facial animations etc.
I liked how they made it more interactive, choice conversations, at the attic and house bits etc. And I liked how they opened it up.

Thats exactly why they are gonna show it during the showcase lol

They know there’s a large segment of gamers not interesting in spending another 500 dollars on VR and wouldn’t turn into a VR dedicated showcase. But maybe they’ll get a few more eyes on it if they know theres gonna be a spider-man 2 trailer at the end

True. I am expecting a PSVR 2 segment during the showcase. Would just prefer there not to be one. lol. But if there is, I hope it's short.

Golden Age of Piracy would be amazing. They could do so much with it and more in later instalments. That would probably be my 1st choice now that you bring it up. Single shot pistols/muskets and sword fighting would have a great impact on the gameplay. There are plenty of opportunities for great set pieces as well.

To me Uncharted was always at it's best when the story revolved around pirates but this time we would get to see it first hand and ND would have a lot of room to create new interesting characters.

I don't feel like there is any game IP right now that covers something like this, there is a massive potential for success. I think they already maxed out what the regular Uncharted series can provide.
