CEO would never sell, he has a very small company and he's raking the majority of the profit.
And we know from his communication that he loves AI/Crypto and all that other stuff.
CEO is purely a "I am here to make the most money" kind of guy and that's what he's going to plan to do.

Let them buy Palworld and release a portable to go against Valve and Nintendo.

They had Roblox as an exclusive for ages and it made no difference, they already own Minecraft and all they managed with it were a bunch of floped spinoffs.

Selling to a stupid company like Xbox that will be willing to massively overpay is the easiest way for this guy to cashout.

Then he can just clone Pokemon again with even better budget.

Anytime a game lights up the charts, theirs an immediate article and demand that xbox buys it. Just look at baldurs gate 3 last year and it wasnt even on xbox

Yep. People like Paul Tassi wear their Xbox fanboyism on their skin. As gaming journalists, they should at least try showing more impartiality and less bias, but people like him are actually worst than a lot of the no-name fanboys in the community.

I'd love to see Sony or Tencent buy Pocketpair just to watch the utter hypocrisy of people like Tassi seep through in every post they make on the matter. Or even Nintendo to buy them, just to sunset the IP and pillage the good parts for a future Pokemon title. Anything to deprive consolidation-hungry fanboys (who almost always default to pro-MS/Xbox) from feeling like "they" got another "W".

i notice when these guys talk about Sony and Bungie, they use the words gobble, consume, and devour. When it's Microsoft they just say acquire, grow or expand.

There's no need to buy them. MS needs to lock down palworld as a console exclusive but no point in that now.
We have the numbers for January in the UK, the only other market where Xbox is kinda relevant, and the sales are DOWN once again. Palworld won't save them.

Why not? What's stopping them?

People shouldn't get their panties in a bunch. + it's an opinion.

It sort of makes sense.... which is why they aren't going to do it. They'll go out and buy, I dunno, Kinetic Games instead.

Speaking in an interview with Bloomberg, Pocketpair boss Takuro Mizobe confirmed Palworld cost less than ¥1 billion ($6.7 million) to make, and has made tens of billions of yen in profit. For context, ¥10 billion is around $67.2 million.

It’s an amount that is “too big for a studio with our size to handle,” said Mizobe, who later clarified he has no intention of expanding or offering shares in the company. Rather, he wants Pocketpair to remain small (it’s currently 55 people). Mizobe said he is open to a partnership or acquisition, but insisted he has not started buyout talks with Microsoft. Perhaps more pressing, Pocketpair is in talks to bring Palworld to more platforms, suggesting a potential PlayStation 5 and Nintendo console release in the future.

Half expecting Nintendo to jump on this. Just to continue their pocket monster monopoly they have going on.

They will get fake Pokemon to compete with Nintendo. That studio just copies and steal ideas made by AI. They are not real devs.
Sounds very like something MS would do. A totally original company from the beginner who buys success
