I mean, if you spend it poorly, with tons of crunch OT and training costs, 100 million into advertising plus the bloat of chasing photorealism, then yeah, maybe. Then random Nintendo projects outsell you 3 to 1.

Halo costed over 500M.
So if you want to reach Sony quality, no wonder they need 1B 😂
That was definitely mismanagement because no way that game cost that much no matter what Microsoft stated. They are full of shit!

even if they claim a game took like 10 years to make and they had like 500 people on the project every year... thats like maybe 500 million in salary cost over a decade.

so nah, doubt it

Gta6 is the only game i can see doing this, it's been in dev for 10 years at this point.

Maybe star citizen but that's more of a scam than a game

The average AAA has 2000-3000 or more working on it, not 500. And this is for the already published, the ones under development to take advantage of next gen very likely will be much more expensive.

And around half or more of the cost of AAA games is the marketing part (ads etc). We also have to consider that many AAA like the Ubi ones keep receiving post launch content for many years, and this is more costs
