Over the weekend, Michael Gamble - who has been part of the Mass Effect series since 2010 - cleared up some confusion amongst fans. The interaction began with one BioWare fan sharing that they were under the impression that the Mass Effect 5 leadership team is "mostly original trilogy veteran devs."

In response to this, another Twitter user asked how they knew this, to which Gamble stepped in to straighten things out. In his reply, Gamble revealed the executive producer (himself), art director, creative director, and game director are all trilogy veterans. The developer's reply was to the point and didn't name any names, but since he's the one leading Mass Effect 5, we can most definitely take his word for it.

Last month, it was revealed that Mass Effect 5 is reportedly still in pre-production as developer BioWare focuses on Dragon Age Dreadwolf. This has seemingly been the case for some time now meaning the Mass Effect sequel could still be quite a ways off from release. Before this update, the studio celebrated N7 Day 2023 by sharing a brand-new teaser trailer which has kept fans theorizing for quite a while now.

The trilogy sucked. ME1 was the only good ME game.

ME2 was dumb because it became an action tps for the normies; blood splatter, ammo requirements and unable to target certain colour shields with certain abilities. The story was stupid AF and entirely pointless within the trilogy. 15 hours of scanning planets.

ME3 was laughably bad for the story but the gameplay and powers were great. Still stupid AF that they went with ammo again.

So yeah, unless the veterans are the team that made ME1, I couldn't give less of a fuck and ME1 is up there as my favourite games.

Bioware veterans probably means the guys behind ME3 and Andromeda. :ROFLMAO:

Seems like Andromeda awfulness distracts people from the fact the IP was killed with ME3 and bad decisions that likely date back to ME2.

EA completely destroyed Bioware, just like Activision destroyed Blizzard.

The only way to bring ME back properly would be to reboot it and start again bringing back Drew Karpyshyn and having him write down the draft of an entirely new trilogy before even going into production. Never going to happen.

Andromeda had the best combat in the series the plot and characters are what sucked badly.

I played this in full.

The combat and movement was indeed the best in the series and they brought back the Mako. It also had dungeons of sorts etc. That’s pretty much the only areas it sorta delivered.

But agree… the narrative, boring cast, and a plot I can’t remember one bit. Can you? Heh. It had no soul. Anthem was a bit less mid because it did some new stuff and better production etc…

With that said… this is a new BioWare yet again. I’ll reserve judgement till we actually start seeing stuff from them.
