PC 15% right.

PC had a CCU of 85k. You're saying that PS5 hit a CCU of 425k? When we know that the biggest hit on both PC and PS5 this year was Helldivers 2 with at its peak a CCU of around 800k spread equally over both platforms.

You're seeing more hype for Metaphor than HD2 which took the internet by storm and was played and talked about by near everyone online??

How do you newbies always screw yourselves over with outlandish takes such as the bolded? If you left it at the other part you maybe would've had a respectable post, but then you say the bolded, which is factually NOT TRUE.

And guess what? We have plenty of metrics to prove it's not true; from CCUs to sales (the 1 million mentioned here is sold-in to retailers, not sold-through to customers), and we'll have more proof in the Famitsu/Media Create/UK/Circana charts for October. Helldivers 2 literally went viral and sold 12 million in the span of some 2-3 months across two platforms. Metaphor is getting a lot of hype but it's not doing those types of numbers, probably ever.

Also in terms of CCU, different platforms have different peaks at different time zones. PS5 peak CCU for HD2 could've matched or exceeded Steam's even if total CCUs including both did not reflect that, because of the factors I just mentioned. Tho for PlayStation, it's harder to definitively say if such was the case because player data is not transparent (it's obfuscated), unlike Steam.

He's accusing the other poster of claiming that by mathematically pointing out that the bolded is unlikely (regardless of the speciousness of the math). Steam CCUs mean fuck all.

Up to today nobody could explain how CCU relates to sales… everybody says WOW it reached 100k CCU on Steam so it mean it sold x hundred units.

But nobody say exactly what it is…

85k CCU can mean 100k sales?
85k CCU can mean 300k sales?
85k CCU can mean 500k sales?
85k CCU can mean 1m sales?

Even when you compre games with the same peak CCU the sales are all over the place… and there is no logic.

That's why we shouldn't use CCU to estimate sales.

So you agree it flopped even with the high CCU?

Let's be generous and say it sold 400k on PC. It's still low compared to all the hoopla about it. You would think it sold millions.

We should not use CCU to estimates wherever a game is a flop or not because all we know is the minimum sales it has.

tbh for the second highest rated game of the year there is pretty much 0 noise around it. the subreddit is already less active than other atlus games. It'll sell something like a SMT game rather than Persona.
