I have a sneaky feeling that some high-up at Microsoft command has told Jez to write this article.
I believe he is basically issuing threats by proxy.
I did not realize how bad a lot of the tech press was possessed by MS until the release of the Xbone back in 2013.
Lots of these (mostly) guys just cheer for everything their king does, no matter what!
Low spec console? No problem, it makes no difference anyway
Restrictive DRM? Great, I love my games so much I would never sell them anyway! And I'll move to a place with better internet if I need to!
Lies about console power (cloud computing, dx12, 1080p Halo 5, etc.)? All good!
Claim to have the most powerful console on the market 18 months before the product is actually released? Great, this means we can play with our Xbone while claiming that one day its big brother will come to win the technical comparisons one day!
Barely any exclusive for day and date gamepads? Still great service, would pay more for it!
Market series S as a 1440p gaming machine? Great, 720p is good too, no need to go that high, I loved the 360!
Bold raytracing claims? Great, I don't care for Minecraft anyway!
VRS support will make games on series x destroy the ps5 version? ... Not happening, it guess it doesn't matter!
No new games? No problem, your exclusives suck anyway!
The list goes on and on.
Jim Ryan said the most important thing as a leader: Sony wants to make games that are culturally relevant.
That's what I want to ear. When someone talks about a high level vision for gaming, I want relevance to be at the top, no monetization talks until this is attained, no business model disruptive until you can do the basic things, even console performance is less relevant than this, same for shiny controller variants. MS can't run studios because they think that making and selling games is like making office, windows or Azure, they even use the same "experience" language when talking about these things.

If it really came from MS, it would be unbelievably petty of them, even by their standards, to blame Sony for the CMA deciding to actually do their job.
The way xbox dudes are so confidant this deal will go through reminds of all things theyve shown hubris with. Things like the series x will crush the ps5 on power, halo infinite revving the franchise etc etc. It was all lies and all wrong and yet they continue the lies.
