Xbox Series X pricing will remain the same in the US and match PS5 pricing in most other markets. Xbox Game Pass prices are going up in most markets.
Microsoft is increasing its Xbox Series X prices in most countries in August apart from the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. The Xbox maker is also increasing the monthly prices of its Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions for the first time next month, which will see the base Game Pass subscription for console move up to $10.99 a month from $9.99.
“We’ve held on our prices for consoles for many years and have adjusted the prices to reflect the competitive conditions in each market,” says Kari Perez, head of communications for Xbox, in a statement to The Verge.
Xbox Series X console pricing will largely match the price hike Sony announced for the PS5 last year, with the Xbox Series X moving to £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 across most European markets, CAD $649.99 in Canada, and AUD $799.99 in Australia starting August 1st. The Xbox Series S pricing will not be adjusted in any markets, remaining at $249.99.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for Console pricing will increase starting July 6th. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will move from $14.99 per month to $16.99 (€14.99 / £12.99). The base Xbox Game Pass for Console pricing will also move from $9.99 a month up to $10.99 (€10.99 / £8.99). Microsoft is not changing PC Game Pass pricing, though.

Wow, it's gonna be totally dead at even higher prices when it already doesn't sell.

I actually just got one for 450 US in prep for wanting to give Starfield a fair shake. There is no way I'd pay a raised price for any of this stuff, and I will likely get rid of the system after I am done with Starfield so ...

Hot damn, what a boner of a move.

The creep is sort of Comcast level shit. Much prefer defined jumps at long intervals.

That $1 creep will not be the last. Can always be wrong but....

The console price increase... well... par for the course although you're not getting an equivalent ecosystem to that of PlayStation but that's a consumer's choice to make. In that sense it's fine.

Very pro-consumer!

Can I hear the backlash? Oh no... thats just applause and admiration from the Xbox crowd as usual 'great strategum, Phil!'
I wouldn't doubt this dude lol. I can practically see the "maybe Game Pass will be profitable now, awesome!" cries as we speak.

Probably the first of many future price hikes, just like every subscription service in existence.

With price increases and mid gen refresh not being a thing for Xbox, I have my doubts about their commitment to hardware in the future.

I hope their customers are ready for cloud only or old consoles.

We knew this was coming. He said it last year. There won't be any backlash of course... because... Sony Too.

Theyre being disingenuous when they say the Series S is staying the same price because its going up to 350 in September. They already hiked he price in Japan last year as well. Oh well, sales dont matter anyways.

BS move. Specially for consoles. It doesn't make much sense either. Europeans will game on playstation even if it was 800 USD but Xbox can't afford that. Keep prices low if you want to compete.

Let's see if the media tear them a new one like they did with Sony.

The last few months on GP are not even good, PS plus blows it out of the water for half the price.

You're an idiot if you get into the Xbox ecosystem at these prices. Just get a PS5.
