Also Starfeild didn't do a dent in subs from past info we know. They are a stagnant company and lost mindshare from the Xbox 360 days.Console sales down 7% with Starfield. The rest of the numbers are also small after all this investment. Single digit revenue.
These numbers don't mean shit with revenue. They made acquisitions so revenue obviously is going to go up not counting the debt in the acquisition. Of course I don't see profit in here.I also read that operating costs per year were somewhere 2.1B For Xbox division.
So someone do the math on how much they actually get to take home.
Netflix made 8 billion in revenue and 4 billion in profit yet are raising sub fees all around smh.Corporations are so fucking disgusting. Microsoft posted over $22 billion in profits just this quarter and yet had several rounds of layoffs of tens of thousands of workers. Absolutely disgraceful.
We know gamepass subs account for perhaps $4 billion a year in revenue, and xbox is around $15.5 billion a year in revenue, so of that remaining 11.5 billion MS will only take home 30% (platform split, we know big games like COD only gives 20% to MS so that'll offset first party sales). So $3.5 billion - $2.1 billion = $1.4 billion net income, plus or minus whatever gamepass is. That doesn't account for the fact that some of Xbox's operating costs are being hidden in other division's operating costs (e.g. network infrastructure).I also read that operating costs per year were somewhere 2.1B For Xbox division.

This is for the year ending in June. Starfield hadn't been released then.Console sales down 7% with Starfield. The rest of the numbers are also small after all this investment. Single digit revenue.

A nearly 10-year tradition!"That doesn't account for the fact that some of Xbox's operating costs are being hidden in other division's operating costs"
Big piece right here and is very true. They try their hardest to make the numbers look better than what they are.
No, Q1 for MS is July 1 to Sept 30. For Sony it's Q2.This is for the year ending in June. Starfield hadn't been released then.

Tbh, Xbox 360 was a total aberration. It's a shame Sony dropped the ball that gen because Xbox would be dead and buried already. Instead they gained mind share and cultivated, well, a cult capitalising on Sony's mistakes in the USA. Xbox went from ~25 mil to <80 mil that gen. They'll be back down there this gen but it took too long. Also Starfeild didn't do a dent in subs from past info we know. They are a stagnant company and lost mindshare from the Xbox 360 days.
Sony didn’t drop the ball that generation. Microsoft launched early and paid off publishers to keep games off the PS2 and PS3 for a bit, and once Sony had fully transitioned to that generation they never looked back.Tbh, Xbox 360 was a total aberration.
