Whatever you think of the story in MKs since the PS3 reboot, or whatever your favoritism is for different fighter franchises you gotta at least recognize and admit that Netherrealm Studios is still leading comfortably and innovating when it comes to fighter story-telling. They're well above any other studio making fighters in that regard. The story arc, structure has gotten much better and very polished too. Sure it's linear, but it's quality linear. It's simply not close, neither SF or Tekken studios compete here. The effort should be rewarded imo - it would be much easier to just mail it in standard fare of old. I'm tempted to buy it just cause, and the last MK I played was the modern reboot on PS3 I believe. Would be funny if I redip on this franchise on another reboot.
