And thankfully it's not another retelling of the arcade trilogy. They're going in a fresh direction, which is what I was hoping for.

My only major complaint is that it feels like 99.9999% of the trailer is set in a grassy plane or locations with the same colour pallette. Hopefully the actual game is more varied than that.

I do wish that NetherRealm didn't write themselves into a corner two games after Mortal Kombat (2011), though. That timeline should've had more longevity than just a trilogy.

I thought it was Mortal Kombat when I relized except for Scorpion, Sub-zero, Jade, Mileena neither of the others characters made sense.
Looks like a spin-off.
The first char in the trailer looks like Liu Kang but after is nothing like him at all.
Raiden is very weird too.
