You are talking about it, but given the story of xbox releases as of the last 10+ years nobody really cares.
That being said, I think the next Doom could be good, I think that Ninja theory has the potential to release a breakout title with Hellblade II. But one has to keep their hope in check (and honestly, they made it easy to keep my money safe from impulse purchases, so you have to give Phil kudos for saving everyone 500$).

we actually have expectations for PS studios, and I don't think it's a crime to call them out when they're not meeting said expectations.

I get naughty dog has more controversy than anything else but they just release one of the biggest game they ever made if not the biggest 3 years ago. Realistic their next game should come out in 2025 and about factions some shit gone wrong and obviously had an impact on the studio. If by next year we hear nothing than I would worry. Believe it or not, directing is hard and maybe he needed time after doing 3 back to back GOTYs in the director's seat. Pre production can also take years especially if he is making a new IP
Why not the same question of Barlog? Now 5 going on 6 years since he directed. Kojima up to 5 years. Amy Hennig hasn't done it for 13 years. Todd Howard was 8 years between projects. Sakurai 6 years. Kamiya went 9 years between directing games
