New Game or New Game Plus when coming back to a game you already finished?

So what's your preference going back to a game you already finished but haven't played in a while?

I always prefer going through a game on new game. I really enjoy starting from scratch and seeing that progression. Yeah, NG Plus is great as you get to carry over your stuff and get to see your character in cutscenes with the best armor but I really do miss that sense of progression.

I will start a NG plus shortly after I've finished a game, but if I haven't played it in a while, it's new game only.

NG+ is one of my favorite game mechanics. I dislike it when games I like ship without the option.

I only rarely do it and pretty much every game I do doesn't have NG+ options. To be quite frank I think those options are a waste, either its a 40 hour barrier to entry to getting the "real" experience or its something that messes up game balance for returning players.
