I'm always amazed at how racing studios can, instead of going from strength to strength in game to game, all of the sudden fall of a cliff in their next iteration. Happened to Polyphony Digital for a while and it has taken time to heal GT. Now Turn 10 with such a solid track record releases what appears to be have been a dev hell title with cuts all over the place and a super mid reception.

Crazy. I guess the biggest story here is that project management and talent management is hard as fuck to keep consistent. But these are first party studios, not the EA's of the world pushing crappy Madden/Fifa's out.

This severe lack of atmosphere doesn't fit a otherwise great and polished game like Forza.

It’s not going to be a racing game for everyone, falling very much into the category of sim racer, but there are enough accessibility options and difficulty sliders that even the most inexperienced racing player will manage to eke out some enjoyment here.

As a non-racer, I have been incredibly impressed by what's on offer. While I still prefer the open-world shenanigans and quirky Burnout-inspired Horizon series, I can see what's so appealing about these types of games thanks to this latest entry.
