Opinion: Next Xbox will force Sony to stop porting games to PC

if the next Xbox runs windows completely like it's been rumored, the direct competitor will have access to PC games like Spiderman, God Of War, The Last Of Us, i think Sony will stop porting games to PC because of that, it'll be too risky to let the direct competitor have the biggest reason why people purchase your console.

They can block individual devices, regardless of what they run.

I don't think they'll be able to block it if its just using off the shelf parts and windows.... which it most likely will. People think just cuz they blocked it on GFN that they can do it with everything now, that's not the case.

Also even if they could block it on Steam it won't stop them from being able to pirate it (‼)

It doesn't work that way. Nobody truly know if there is going to be a next Xbox and what it is going to be.

I'd say the opposite, Sony would be happy to see MS generating more customers, revenue and profit to Sony and their Sony PSN PC store, or at least Steam.

And giving 0% of that money to MS.

Why? It would help killing Xbox's console, and would generate more users, revenue and profit for Sony giving 0% of it to MS. Because Sony would sell the Sony games on Sony's PC store, or at least Steam. But not in MS's one.

If their new console runs Steam, or even more if it uses Window, it means it will be just another PC for Sony.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but Sony doesn't see "Microsoft" as an opposition but they see "Xbox console" as competition.

So if Microsoft makes a hardware that's more expensive and pretty much a PC, than it would be beneficial for Sony Interactive either way.

Because the traditional console consumer either switches to Ps5, hence growing market share for SIE, or they go to PC or buy PC hardware (by MS or they build one) and then PS gets more steam/EGS customers.

All those announced games by Sony PlayStation 5 really make me glad I paid the extra $500 instead of just playing on the PC I already had. The fact that many if not most PC players dont even pay for the games make me feel Extra especial.

Sony is a few games away from having released everything on PC with close to nothing on the way. They should thank God for Square Enix and R* every day.
