That DLC accounted for 2.5m of their sales and most of it was PC…. Plus it sold 1.3m of the base game most on PC.

Others old games sold like 100-400k max including the ones that are only on consoles.

There were also no new releases and 85% of the sales were from "catalogue titles" apparently. Again, PC is not going to become the dominant gaming platform over consoles and mobile. I know you are making this argument, but it aint going to happen.

People like simplicity and ease of use. That's why PC is a fraction of the overall gaming market and will continue to be so. Not because it's bad, it's a great platform with a lot of flexibility. It's just the least consumer friendly platform in an age when "PCs" as a primary computing platform are also on the decline. Especially big, power hungry, expensive, installations.

You greatly overestimate the amount of time consoles have on this planet, and where focus is shifting. Consoles have virtually no growth, the market is actually in decline while PC continues to see unprecedented growth.

PC is easier than ever, more user friendly and people are getting tired of a lack of freedom.

Capcom knows what's up, you guys will figure it out as well when you have no choice but to.

the thing about this comparison is that PC pretty much has the biggest Capcom catalogue ready to go. The lost planet series is stuck on PS3 and never got PS4 remasters and while I believe its on XBox one and series due to 360 BC I don't think they would sell great on xbox anyway! So many games are not just ready to go on PS4 due to there not being PS3 BC

I’m saying that quarter numbers doesn’t show anything like “prospect” or “accelerating plans” like the OP says.

That that Capcom 50% PC this quarter was due they not having news releases on consoles and their best seller with around 3.5m units being on PC or portable.

They dumped back catalogue on steam at discount with no market on console. When a new title launches expect that shrink to single digits is the logical conclusion.

Either way, PC and Capcom games will never be a thing. PC should stick to RTS and MMO and get back in their lane, they're really not worth the extra effort in development costs for developers like Capcom.

also happy to see they never bothered to release DMC5 SE proper for PC. PC must really not be that big a deal to them, because that's a back catalog port they didn't even bother with. Guess they figured PC users would just steal it anyways.

Monster Hunter Rise came late to PC, but Stories 2 i think came day one. Not sure exactly what the plan is there.

Also Resi 7 VR and presumably RE4r VR both not on PC. Good news.

either way, not like PC will ever get an exclusive or anything, so there's not much to worry about in all reality. This idea that PC is their home platform is absolutely fabricated and asinine.

PC is their last choice, only ahead of Xbox.

I still don't get why RISE is on PC. that really ate into the sales on Switch, when you factor in 3rd world asian markets and their inclination for theft/piracy on PC.

Hopefully Nintendo can keep the next one off of PC permanently. I think they've learned not to play nice with PC moving forward.

PC is a last-choice platform for Capcom, and Japan and Japanese developers hate PC. that's a fact.

It's a convinient base development platform, but that's all. It's an afterthought really.
