hey, new megaman game just dropped. why isn't this on Capcom's main platform, the PC?
Good thing about PC is that titles can remain ever-green. Always a sale, always a discount. In that scenario if your pc is capable it's very easy to double dip. Epic is giving away games, humble bundles are peanuts.
Still if you want revenue/profit console is still where it's at. When Capcom actually releases SF6, we will see where most sales will be from. PC sales can accumulate over time especially in dry spells, where there are few releases from the publisher.

it's honestly our duty, as hardcore gamers, to gatekeep the space, and that means that PC, and PC gamers, aren't welcome. they're toxic, entitled, and downright hateful individuals who don't deserve a voice (or games). Especially when they steal most of of what they 'get' so to speak.
it's really unfortunate that Capcom has to support PC because of 3rd world Asian markets.
I hope that these places in the future can legalize consoles and make them more readily available, and I welcome these folks into the console space.

You greatly overestimate the amount of time consoles have on this planet, and where focus is shifting. Consoles have virtually no growth, the market is actually in decline while PC continues to see unprecedented growth.
PC is easier than ever, more user friendly and people are getting tired of a lack of freedom.
Capcom knows what's up, you guys will figure it out as well when you have no choice but to.

I don’t see Capcom giving up on Switch and Playstation sales anytime soon. And plenty people won’t be playing only on PC. I have one but its mostly for retro and indies

This news is particularly funny to take as a negative; the context of "well they released some catalog titles on PC that's why" is important to consider... but.. they sold 5.8 million units by doing that.
So... big unit sales when you release catalog titles... and in general catalog titles do well on PC? Yeah that's why Sony is doing what they are doing.
It's good news for them and likely signals them to think PC is worth continuing to support, not sure why anyone would try to spin that into some anti-PC message.

Monster Hunter World took off big time and made huge strides with pc players.
So the Rise port plays a big part in this … and that wasn’t released on consoles. And that’s the only thing Capcom has really done since RE8.

Isn't console like the most casual place to play, besides mobile gaming? I don't think you know the definition of a hardcore gamer...
Even grandma plays solitaire and minesweeper on windows. Would never get a console

Yeah, but there's the most simplistic design, no upgrades or literally anything to differentiate your console from the next person. Plus everyone on console just about play the same handful of games from current Gen and last Gen only. Everyone uses the exact same controller, and play at the exact same settings and framerates. You can't do anything to change this really. That's textbook definition of casual if you ask me.
