Awesome, I'm just really getting into FF. My first was VII Remake and then I went on to XV.

Genuienly strange theyre going all in like this for a franchise they dont own. Like i get associating your brand with certain games but some of us just this morning were talking about a leaked document about Microsoft potentially trying to acquire sqaure enix in early 2020. If Sonys going to go all in then they should at least purchase shares of SE.
They have been doing these "Discover" websites for sometime now but usually for 1st party. Nice to see they also done it for a 3rd party dev.
Wow, I didn't know about this "discover" series. They are amazing! I'm going to take a better look on sunday.
It's refreshing to see a platform holder that doesn't feel like it needs to mass consolidate the industry in efforts of squeezing out independent access to 3P publishers for purposes of "competition", in order to develop & cultivate meaningful partnerships with 3P. The platform holder seeking big 3P acquisitions is doing so from a place of desperation, not strength.
That being said, I agree Sony should at least be buying shares in Square-Enix. And all the big Japanese 3P publishers actually, alongside most of the Western ones.
At the very least, going forward.
Rather than buying square enix I'd like to see them send some engineering talent over to train SE employees in some modern engine techniques, imagine if FF16 used the decima engine instead of a modified ff14 engine. I want to see the full graphical power of what the artists intended at solid 60fps.
Of all the remasters, I'm surprised we didn't get a FFXIII remaster collection with all 3 games packed in or something.
FFXIII “failure” sure is something. The game was not bad at all by that gen standards. Yes, it was linear, but so was FFX and all of the previous games.
IMO, that gen was heavily biased against Japanese games, most of that got shitted by the media at that time and they were really, really hating anything linear. To me it all was fabricated.
Where is the love for the first 6 games?
