Thy made PSVR stuff which was good like Blood and Truth.Looking at their history it sounds like they were mostly a studio that made games for accessories... It was basically EyeToy and Singstar games in the PS2 + PS3 eras, and lately they'd been doing PSVR games.
Their last game was... a FMV interactive adventure like we had in the 90s and early 00s. Which I can only guess it didn't really sell like hot cakes.
Sony closing them down is just another sign that they left PSVR2 to die.
What Nintendo acquired is the porting studio who did the awful Switch version of MK11. Sony's acquired porting studio is Nixxes, quite a difference.Nintendo out here acquiring while Playstation is closing.
Yes, they were pretty much focused on making games for accesories or weird innovative stuff in general. They also worked on stuff like Wonderbook or PlayLink games.Looking at their history it sounds like they were mostly a studio that made games for accessories... Damn man I loved my Vita.I remember that Sony was closing Vita studios the same year as dropping first party support for that console. Firewall Ultra flopping was probably the moment, when SIE decided to let it go. Vita didnt get it's farewell game (Gravity Rush 2), and PSVR2 probably wont get it as well.
Yes, a VR Home 2 etc would of been greatRIP, shame to see them go, making their own game was a mistake. Sony should'v let them work on VR2 and make it the PS Home studio..
Playstation really should have kept them as is, but downsized some roles.
Because you have Santa Monica being a developer, but they also help out other PS 1st party... and they are located in America. London is exact same, but for Europe/UK.
Chaining them to VR last Gen was what sealed their fate lol. Blood and Truth should have been a full fledged PS4 game with a VR version similar to the Resident Evil games.RIP, shame to see them go, making their own game was a mistake. Yeah thy had potential but wasn't realized.Chaining them to VR last Gen was what sealed their fate lol. Blood and Truth should have been a full fledged PS4 game with a VR version similar to the Resident Evil games.
Doubt it, scored well on Metacritic as well. There is no Singstar for PS5 (baffles my mind with Sony Music catalogue), they could'v easily thrived off the casual and VR market. Rather the focus on making a high budget game and going for live-service was what sealed their fate.Chaining them to VR last Gen was what sealed their fate lol. That is one market? The UK and the game free fell from the charts as the VR base wasn't big enough to sustain long term sales. Making a full fledge PS4 game should have happened, since they actually lacked a first party first person shooter as well. VR addition would have sealed the deal. The game would have had even better sales.Doubt it, scored well on Metacritic as well. People speaking about making a full game, the last one was TheGetAway that was 22 years ago and people misconstrue, that was Team Soho which partly later went on to be Team Bondi (RIP too) which made LA Noire. As a Dutchman it's a shame TheGetAway3 for PS3 never came to fruition.
Yeah tht would have been a gd plan. That is one market? The UK and the game free fell from the charts as the VR base wasn't big enough to sustain long term sales.
