That is one market? The UK and the game free fell from the charts as the VR base wasn't big enough to sustain long term sales. Making a full fledge PS4 game should have happened, since they actually lacked a first party first person shooter as well. VR addition would have sealed the deal. The game would have had even better sales.
Sure probably would do more and an even bigger budget, that year Apex also came out with the Modern Warfare reboot. Oh a VR game making history by topping charts with console games is nothing special indeed. That you don't favour VR fine, but it's nothing to scoff at.

The funny part is you are blaming VR when they got actually shutdown making a shooter game for the console (and PC). It's just very ironic to read.

Uhm where did I blame VR? I said it sealed their fate because it simply meant their next game had to be big hit since the VR game wasn't a huge seller in the grand scheme. Also it would have allowed them to establish a new franchise instead of having to start over from scratch and probably wouldn't have been chained to an ill-fated GaaS plan by their overlords.


But I see you decided to take the defensive route in this discussion, so have a great day.

Pointed out they were doing well with Singstar and VR, VR2/PS Home support was the way to survive for them. You disagreed which is fine.

That is one market? The UK and the game free fell from the charts as the VR base wasn't big enough to sustain long term sales.

Cause my initial comment pointed out they lost all SP console capabilities by losing Team SoHo almost 20 years ago and the current studio in my opinion could not survive nor compete with the current blockbuster studio roster Sony got.

They chose to do it.

Defensive? Saying they got shutdown while making a console game is not defensive it's what happened. Trying to make a Destiny like game and getting reviewed by Bungie, I will say it's brave lol.

When I think of London Studios, I imagine if Sony hadn't closed Zipper and kept letting them make mediocre games.

Some studios like Sucker Punch and Guerrilla Games hit this 2nd and 3rd level of game development, whereas London Studios never did. Their games were never super polished and always seemed to be lacking somehow.

Media Molecule feels pretty similar if I'm being honest and I think they'll be the next to close if they can't get into gear with their next game.

Definitely reminds me of when San Diego studios made Mark of Kri. The concept was cool but they just weren't great at execution.

There was nothing mediocre about MAG except it happened during the wrong generation and 3 years too early

I did not disagree about Singstar or PS Home. I simply did not acknowledge any of that as it had no correlation to the current discussion and I wasn't gonna derail the conversation about stuff that didn't matter.

My comment simply said. Blood and Truth was a great game as I actually loved my PSVR1 and I think they would have fared better if the game was made for the entire PS4 base alongside with VR compatibility.

You wanting to argue over your own misunderstandings isn't my issue nor will I entertain it.

My bad I completely misunderstood.

My comment simply said. Blood and Truth was a great game as I actually loved my PSVR1 and I think they would have fared better if the game was made for the entire PS4 base alongside with VR compatibility.

4 hour title made for VR on console. Wouldn't bet on it to be a massive success. Not all titles for VR would transfer one to one, if you played it you would know. RE goes from console to VR, not the other way around in development. Speaking of misunderstandings.

The way you keep ignoring the fact I said it should have been a PS4 game with VR compatibility..so obviously the game would not have been 4 hours.💀🤡

and the fact that you keep ignoring multiple times that I said they don't have console capabilities which again is proven cause they got closed down making a console game. Went from have a nice day to defensive, to butt hurt. Under a post about a studio closing down. Funny to witness.

If they didn't have a console capabilities then they wouldn't have been assigned to a GaaS game at all. You're acting like London Studios was so inept inexperienced studio that couldn't make a PS4 single player game.

We already saw from the Insomniac leaks, Sony was pushing to close down a studio and it just happened to be them... Because they simply haven't been profitable in years. They were literally still hiring for the game even a month before being closed down. So it had nothing to do with them making a console game.

Why the hell did they put them on VR, Sony is shutting down every studio they forced to work on VR.

Can we all admit it was a massive waste of money.

They should have been working on a new getaway or playstation home for ps5
