Possibly more important, this exploit gives us read/write access, but no execute! This means no possibility to load and run binaries at the moment, everything is constrained within the scope of the ROP chain. The current implementation does however enable debug settings.

Eh

It's a step in the direction though. I wonder how Microsoft has such good security in comparison? Either way, I'm a fan of homebrew from back in the GameCube days. Anyone remember PSO exploits?

After what happened with the original Xbox and the 360 it's no surprise that Microsoft invested heavily in system security.

Oh look, it's that insufferable Nintendo fanboy who still plays games from 20 years ago. Welcome to the forum.

Lol i still play games from 20 years ago ( unfortunately I started Suikoden 1-2 before the remaster announcement ).
And love Nintendo. They make some great games, yes they piss me off big time but they give me good games… ( which i don’t pay full price for lol )

PS3 emulator. Unlocked framerates on games, etc.

Possibilities are endless.

There is a fairly big assumption being made here.

I guess it's not good security, but lack of interest from the hacker scene.
I'd actually say it's more so due much better security then anything. Ppl "hack" into refrigerators and toasters, left and right. Even the worst devices are listed on XDA forums. To think people aren't interested in Xbox is kinda fanboyish to say the least. Shame on you....

Who said "people" aren't interested in Xbox? I said hackers aren't.

- For piracy, you have all Xbox games on PC. No reason to hassle with hacking a console.
- With dev mode, you already can run homebrew and emulators. No reason to hack.

If you remember, PS3 wasn't hacked until Sony removed linux, because before that, people interested in homebrews already had a possibility to run them.

Shame on you for seeing fanboyism everywhere, but I guess you had a look at the mirror before posting.
