I think bluepoint were worth for their technical chops alone. I think we're also going to be surprised by their game.

I think bluepoint were worth for their technical chops alone. I think we're also going to be surprised by their game.
Bluepoint said they are not working, but in 'original content' instead. We recently saw that at least part of it is supporting/codeveloping God of War Ragnarok and I assume in addition to it they will be working on their own 'original' game.
The other one remaking was Sony VASG, a support team who wanted to lead their own project and did it with TLOUP1 with the help of ND, but when they already worked a lot on it Hermen was promoted didn't like the project and asked them to go back to their classic role: ND as lead and VASG as support team until they completed the project.
The normal role that Sony VASG is supporting AAA games (most of them from Sony) helping them with animation and specially their cutscenes. The cool cutscenes from the titles from ND, SSM, Insomniac and so on are mostly from them.
I think VASG will continue focusing on their support role going forward but who knows, maybe Sony extra happy with the TLOUP1 remake and ask them make/codevelop another remake partnering with ND, SSM or someone else.
What I really didn't understand was buying Bluepoint, who are experts at remakes but then tasking them with making a new game....
Especially when there is so much scope for remakes within PlayStation.
All the previous GOW games (6) and I would love to see if they could get MGS and remake all of them too.
They would sell 5-10 times more than PC releases.

Before joining Bluepoint to make remasters and remakes the key staff of the studio did work developing a lot of different original top AAA games such as the Metroid Prime series, Mario Kart 7 and other games from Retro like the Donkey Kong ones, Diablo 2, World of Warcraft and many other ones.
They are more than capable to develop original games.
Part of me thinks what if their "original content" was remaking the ancient Greece area, and in Ragnarok, Kratos has to travel back to Greece? (

Bluepoint Games tech and skill and talent is why Sony bought them and to expand them.
What they did with Titanfall X360 version is nothing short of amazing.
