Xbox is in a completely terrible position rn in the hardware business
The Series S can’t handle current games rn and if a PS5 Pro comes out that means if Xbox wants to retaliate they need to make games for 3 different consoles of different specs which is nonsensical

Every single Xbox hardware has been a failure in one way or another...add the lack of games and you have something that no one wants.
MS/Xbox come across like amateurs in this industry; is just embarrassing.

MS should just give up on hardware and go PC/Cloud only, Xbox is a good for nothing toxic brand that in 20+ years in the console market has made mostly negative contributions.
Maybe MS forgot to renew their contract with Digital Foundry. Not to mention that no Xbox Series "Pro" means Digital Foundry will be getting a lot less views in the upcoming years.
So, the Series S is going to hold down an entire generation of multi-platform games.

In general I agree, but most developers are not even able to fully tax the PS5/X. Sony's top teams are towering over the industry. Other developers aren't struggling to match God of War Ragnarok because they're hardware limited. Series S is probably hitting closer to the needs of most developers until UE5 comes along. And it looks like UE5 will overshoot all existing consoles.
The weird thing is…
Everybody knows that since rumors about Series S started in early 2020 but the Xbox defense force gone crazy to spread it was all transparent to developers and it just need to change a config file.
The reality somehow hit them three years after.
Ridiculous that ms would put devs in this position. No idea why the devs support the platform.
