Resident Evil 9 Revenant Shadows pops up online along with PS5 versions of Code Veronica, Zero, and Resi 5

A retail listing for Resident Evil 9 has popped up on Play Asia, along with PS5 versions of Code Veronica, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 5.

Whilst the remakes have long been rumoured to be in development, the former includes a hitherto unknown subtitle, "Revenant Shadows", "preliminary" cover art, and a description of the game.

"This game continues the chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces. Set in an expansive, terrifying world filled with new threats and mysteries, Revenant Shadows blends intense action, intricate puzzles, and the atmospheric dread that fans have come to love."

There are also listings for Resident Evil 5 on PS5 – the description says there's been "new technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil", suggesting it's not a mere remaster – and Code Veronica, although it's unclear at this stage if that's a port or a remaster.

A PS5 version of Resident Evil Zero is also listed, although that is clearly marked as an "HD remaster."

Capcom has yet to comment on the listings, and no release dates are given for any of these presently unannounced games. At the time of writing, only PS5 versions of the horror games are available.

Hmm, I figured those PS5 versions were just ports of the PS4 ones but that makes no sense. REO is a separate title for PS5, and was bundled with remake on PS4. While RE5 was on PS4, so was 6 and it's not on the list. So the rumored remakes might be true.

Or PA just went with the rumors and posted those up there.

Play Asia is a grey reseller, they have store listings for Bloodborne, unless a convincing cover shows up just ignore this

Some stores do that to gauge interest for the publishers.
Whatever it is true or not nobody outside them knows.

Nah, I've played every RE game and the formula they largely helped establish has always been there. Albeit they've certainly experimented with it a lot over the years.

They went a bit off the rails with 5 and particularly 6, but they did some major course corrections for 7 onward.

They have jake mueller but hes been stuck in limbo since resident evil 6 but i never ruled him out for any future games

Sherry and Jake were fun enough characters, but I'm thinking they either didn't poll well, or maybe Capcom hasn't decided how to grow their stories.

I'm not certain we'll be seeing either of them anytime soon.

Same. If they dont cut content and correct some issues like save points, ammo, moving items and a couple more it they would be great.
They cut content from RE2 so I doubt they keep all of CV, its the longest mainline RE after Village I believe
