Yeah the whole card thing never worked out, they obviously rushed the resume activity/instant start after they saw Xbox’s Quick Resume.

Its one feature Xbox got that I wish PS did. I hate having to go through the intro and credit scenes to play a game or a quick round or 2. The PS version was never consistent or what they advertised it to be, Id have to wait just like any other generation, Xbox done the feature way better

I never used it, so no loss to me. But sad for those that did. Maybe a temporary thing though?

EDIT: So far seems like it's a glitch. Post from a Redditor who contacted support:

I mean I spoke with a rep via chat, asked explicitly if this was an error (my account can't see them at all) and he said it was a glitch, not to worry they're working on it. He escalated my ticket so maybe it's a good idea to jump on a chat because it could end in getting it restored faster, or maybe even free points? No idea... But yeah if we take this random customer service reps word for it we'll all be fine.
If I had to guess they're trying add more options.

Guess if it's a revamp with more options coming, they'll announce something by Friday. They could have made a statement either via the dashboard or their Twitter & blog that it's a glitch, though.

Honestly it sucks for those who used it, but I can't say it was a standard feature for me. Games start so quick on PS5, I just never cared.

You do when you're in-between save areas or checkpoints in games that don't have liberal saving.
The feature of putting the console in standby and to resume it later exactly where you were still is there.

I assume this 'resume activity' is the button that allowed you to load the game skipping the menus and going directly to the most recent savedade / checkpoint.

Maybe it's a bug, maybe removed it because almost nobody was using it.

It's ok for standby, but if you change games you lose that state. The resume activity card was useful for that situation, and it was the closest PS5 users had of Xbox' quick resume.

I have never used the feature, but my impression was that it would load you into those specific activities on the cards (and remembers multiple activities), instantly. I wasn't under the impression that it was just quick resume where you were left off.

Yes. I assume the default activity card they had there by default was whatever one you had to continue in the point where you were, basically just to load the most recent checkpoint skipping the menus, saving you a few seconds.

It could load you into an area but it wasn't quick resume. I don't think I've ever used it other than to test it out. It's like selecting a chapter but a bit more specific, you would lose your progress in most cases.

I use rest mode and if I need to I'll just save and start the game up again. The load times aren't to the point where that is a hassle. I'm not generally playing more than 1 game at a time either.

Data probably shows that it isn't used often.
