This is laughable.

  • I called Sony doing a PC launcher on GAF well before leaks from job listings.
  • I never said anything about delisting games from Steam
Somhow you think the adoption of a launcher would be determined by a handful of aged single player games? It doesn't work like that. Sony needs the cash flow to build themselves a launcher. The PC Ports to steam are positive cash flow. The only people who don't understand that are fanboys who are reactionary.

You look at the biggest games on PC and hardly any of them are actually on Steam. Minecraft, Roblox, LoL, WoW, Fortnite, Valorant, Genshin Impact, .

Sony released games on snes before they released PS1. Sony also used to publish PS1 games on PC.

You're so warped into your way of thinking and your reactionary/emotional response that you're unable to see the forest for the trees.
your analysis are laughable, no one here, or on X take them seriously, and yes, you talked many times about Sony competing with Steam in the PC launcher front and again, if they wanted to do this, Sony wouldn't be putting their tentpole titles on Valve's already monopolistic storefront no matter how old these titles are, they also wouldn't be putting games day and date such as Until Dawn Remake and LEGO Horizon Adventures on Steam's storefront, the only thing for what a PlayStation launcher would serve is as an escape for console players who want to migrate to PC, by having cross-buy with PlayStation, they would make the transition easier, the same way Xbox did it, but 98% of PC players would continue on Steam cause they're loyal to that storefront and there's nothing Sony can do to change that, specially when they are so greedy for money, Steam is where the money is at.

Sony is also confirmed to be working with AMD on a handheld PlayStation and they just put Lego Horizon on Switch.

Sony looking for cash flow and to keep teams up and running today does not equate to lifelong commitments in the future.
you see Sony looking for cash flow, i see Sony completely destroying what they've spent 30 years building and feeding competing storefronts with tentpole IPs while getting minimum return from it, specially from tentpole singleplayer releases

It's clear what Sony's plans are and I've been calling them out consistently for some time.
it's very clear indeed... third party publishing

Do a search against my username and "Kadokawa" and "FromSoftware". Not only did I call that Sony would look to buy them, I said it would happen within the next 3 years.
i don't need to, i already saw your threads and "analysis" about acquisitions here and on X, it doesn't change the fact you're mostly wrong on the majority of your analysis

I still believe that we will see Sony buying Square Enix in our lifetime. Kiryuu is already full steam ahead ending Square Enix. Sony is playing the long-game.

BTW if this deal happens. I wouldn’t expect From titles to be exclusive. This will probably be like Bungie, where Sony will allow them to publish and release their titles everywhere.
This was a special deal with Bungie that they keep some sort of freedom as long as they continue to print expected amount of money. We already see how Totoki started slowly integrating Bungie into PS Studios group

too late, all games would already be on Xbox... the time to buy Square Enix was in 2021/2022, they should've purchased SE instead of Bungie like we all said back then.
Square Enix was pretty expensive at that time. Wait another year and will be even cheaper

True I agree but better late than never. Xbox is not getting FF7R and XVI. Maybe FF17 will be Multi-platform but who knows that game is still 5-8 years away. Also Xbox could likely not exist anymore as console business. Microsoft CEO Nadella and Roger Smith Chairman are fed up with the losses through Xbox hardware.

do i still need to?
whenever games like Concord fail, or games like LEGO Horizon Adventures tank in players, people like mibu completely dissappear after spending months talking about how these games/strategies are amazing for Sony, how putting games on PC is amazing for playstation, how putting games on Switch is amazing for playstation, how spending billions of dollars on live service titles is amazing for playstation, i remember all of your stupid analysis, you’re more wrong than right, you defended that bungie acquisition tooth and nail while we we’re all talking about how there was no benefits for PlayStation, and now 3 years later… look at Bungie being dissolved, look at games they supervised like Concord and FairGames looking to be multi hundred million failures…

They want a monopoly on the anime's industry, FromSoftware is just a bonus

Stop it.

Look at their market cap post Elden Ring. The company's valuation is entirely built around FromSoftware.

If they just wanted anime/manga there are better companies they could buy.

(Japanese) anime industry.
Anime is much bigger than just japan these days and its getting more and more popular not sure why people don't see that.
As for FromSoft it just gives them more control over the Gaming IP and will make money from them being multiplats

Also if true that Microsoft/Xbox are still planing on buying studios/publishers Sony can't just sit by and watch everything get gobbled up.

Looks like Sony is finally trying to make moves IN JAPAN. Sony is an entertainment/tech company so Kadokawa has what they want to expand which is Anime and it just so happened that Kadokawa also deals with video games as well. So an added bonus there.

It definitely is about Anime.

Sony Group buying Kadokawa primarily to enhance their Anime/Manga business. Fromsoftware and other gaming studios are just a bonus.
it's so sad how... despite Gaming/Network Services bringing the most amount of money, Sony is not willing to invest in gaming publishers... it's always about multi-media or music/movies.
