600 watts.

By comparison, my fish tank heater is 50.

Nintendo Switch is topping around 17w in docked mode, and selling more games than PC :ROFLMAO:

PS6 will have similar perfomance with RTX 6090 i think

The next one after this

It should, to have a generational leap. The thing is: For a console to have that kind of performance, be affordable and have an appropriate thermal envelope... how much time is necessary to get to that?

6090 performance, affordable enough so that you can have that in a card between X60/X70 super tier. So by the time we have a 9070.

And it will have to be developed by AMD, who no longer competes in the high end and has worse power consumption than NVIDIA.

I would say around 2032.

i highly disagree. The next generational leap in technology will be through: enough gpu grunt to do fully pathtraced lighting at 1080p60fps (upscaled to 4k), an AI NPU that allows for complex NPC reactions via LLMs and perhaps on-the-fly environmental pathfinding and decision trees without taking up inordinate processing time, and more advanced input methods. I'm really interested in the next generational leap in controller technology, something that PCs have lagged behind in completely. GPUwise a 4090-level GPU is already sufficient to achieve point 1, we just need to wait for process node shrinks to get the die size to console spec. You guys are looking at trying to put $2000 of hardware in a console and it just wont happen.

The ps5pro already matching 4070 perfomance

Ps6 matching 6070-6090 isnt entirely out of the realm of posibility

Especially when it comes several years latter from now

it's not going to happen. 6070 maybe? i mean that depends on how shitty nvidia makes the -70 series

Year 2024 ps5pro already tied 4070 perfomance

Next year 2025 the 5070-90 arrived

If PS6 comes in 2029-2030 PS6 having a 6070-90 perfomance is very posible or maybe even better

Yeah it ain't gonna happen lol. 5090 is already 2 big dies glued together with 600w power consumption, you think they would put that in a console? No lol the max it will be is probably 300-350w, that caps how much performance you can have. 4090 is a good target considering it is 450w TDP on N4 node, maybe you can get a 40-50% power reduction going to N2 and save 50-75w for the rest of the system

You misunderstood i wasnt talking about those graphic card itself but console perfomance that have similar or matching those cards

Weve come a long way since some people here laughing at me for saying the ps5pro will be having rtx4000 perfomance and yet here we are now

Technology evolve faster than you think

If PS5 pro matching 4070 in 2024 and PS6 only get as far as 4090 in 2030 that would be a very underwhelming perfomance

But that's what you'll get for $500

Sure you can put together a 6090 console.. with $2000 worth of components inside. That's what I'm saying. Sony isn't gonna make the base PS6 cost prohibitive.

Actually it's been the other way around for the past 6 or 7 years at least. 2016 mid range RX 480 has 8GB of VRAM. Today we are still seeing brand new cards with that much VRAM released and the RX 580 or cards in that performance level is still used as a low end cards.

For consoles, the leap between PS5 and ps5 pro was smaller than between PS4 and PS4 pro. And smaller than PS3 to PS4.

That's why console generations should last more years ideally.

I asure you a PS6 console in 2030 with 6090 perfomance wont be priced at $2000

Similar situation with PS4 and PS5 compared with state of the art graphic card during that time

Unless sony go crazy pricing PS6 at $2000 but i really doubt that

I would like to upgrade my PC at some point; my 3070 already isn't really enough for the 4k gaymin' I want to do with games like FF7 Remake. I KNOW it won't be able to do FF7 Rebirth at that res when the time comes. The 5000 series might be the gen to do that in, but I already know I can't afford the 5090 lol
Probably not the 5080 either, but we'll see. It'd be nice to have a higher end PC than I'm used to. I've always been on the XX70 versions of these. First a 970, then a 3070.

Bleeding edge for what lol? Most of the people dont use it for heavy graphical processing anyways, Its not like the run of mill pc gamer does GPU accelerated particle or wave simulations. Anyways the people who complain the most of ps5 pro price are 3rd world denizens who are anyways going to be priced out of the 70-90 range cards
Please stop trolling pc owners. Its SO obvious you're nursing a semi everytime you get the chance to have a go. GET. A. FUCKING. LIFE.
