RUMOR: Next State of Play likely coming in less than a couple of weeks

  • TGS will be September 21-24th so very likely there will be a SoP may be earlier that week, which may be annoucned next week
  • Last year TGS was September 15-18th and the TGS SoP 2022 was September 13th
  • The previous State of Play was the PlayStation Showcase back in May 24th, and the previous one (FFXVI themed) in April 13th
  • 'Insiders' like Spherical Nick got wrong guessing that there was going to be an August SoP to reveal PlayStation 5 Slim there. Colin Moriarty so far is wrong on his claim that there will be a 2nd PlayStation Showcase this year

Anyone ready for a the new carbon copy fps games and exclusive Walking sims were gonna get? I sure am excited and Cant wait to be angry I watched this 3 hour long ad!

Seems too good to be true but they are launching a new device, so I am expecting a mediocre showcase in the coming weeks.

You dont have to be a prophet or insider to know Sony will eventually announce a State of Play

MH6 announcement will be the only biggest thing from this month State of Play, but I'm still not sure about that. It's very weird that there's still no leaks this close, from game of this big magnitude like MH6. Usually if game this big featured in State of Play, American insiders who usually can't shut their mouth when it comes to leaks, will parrot about that in social media 🤣 . It's either the game is not in State of Play, or Capcom will announce it themselves via MH Direct.

i am really curious if sony is being strategic, having dev issues with a bunch of their games or they don't care/feel the pressure to do something big.

last showcase (which felt like a long SoP) was very bad. but whatever they do....they have to show uninterrupted gameplay.

In fact, one of least realistic things of the ones I mentioned in the OP is Monster Hunter 6. Next year it's going to be its anniversary, so I assume Capcom will want to announce it in a MH Anniversary event.

There are no cryptic "rumors", just people in forums trying to see something where there is nothing. Nobody has no idea if Sony will do or announce something.

But there's the TGS in a couple weeks and Sony didn't have any State of Play since May, so makes sense that Sony would announce a TGS State of Play specially considering they have 2023 games to market and even announce release dates, plus Spider-Man 2 releasing a month later, the rumored new PS5 sku etc. So it would make sense to see Sony announcing a State of Play this week and release it a few days before TGS.

Next week pretty likely we'd also get Spider-Man 2 previews and the Extra+Premium September games.
