Do you know what mediocre means? I even said you can love a mediocre game but that doesn’t make it more or less mediocre.

It is not bad neither good… it is mediocre… it is in the middle like the own word says… medium quality, common, median, modest, poor, passable, banal, trivial, etc.

I don't understand being review score obsessed; it's stupid considering how awful the "review industry" is.

In reading user comments... I feel like I'd be more on the side of those who hate the game, so I'll skip it.. that's the point of reviews for me, to determine whether I want to play a game.. and sometimes 70-80 Metacritic games are more up my alley than 90-100 games.. hence why the details matter.

It's even worse in the film industry.. good lord are film reviewers NOT aligned with my tastes in general lol

I give my opinion that is an mediocre game based on reviewers (even the exception 5/5 points the same issues as mediocre game design and combat) but you guy keep the defense control.

Yeah it's stupid. You are missing out on a lot of games you'd love; I can guarantee you that.

But clearly your interest in this game's scores has nothing to do with wanting to see if you'd play it, so that's neither here nor there lol

Love how I do it because it always give me great gaming experience.
First I'm missing game because I don't have time to play all of them and that has nothing to do with review scores that I have good playing with high meta games.

Looks amazing, and has a great artwork.

After being in development for a decade, it's surprising that the game is only five to six hours long.

A game to play for the story, and maybe some puzzle elements. Looks like the actual 'game' elements are decidedly average.

Dunno if there is much story to it, but I was always interested in it simply for the art design. I love H.R Giger's artwork for the Alien films, and games like the Dark Seed series.

There really aren't a lot of (modern) games with his aesthetic as a point of inspiration so Scorn seemed interesting for that fact alone. However, I don't think people who are not as attracted to the aesthetic will get much out of the game. It always seemed more like a modern version of those PC "interactive adventure games" like Gadget to me, or Juggernaut on PS1.

Games that you never play for any deep gameplay, but usually just for the story, atmosphere or something like that.

Which is why it's a good deal for these indies to be on GP.

Taking any "exclusive" deal really is a good idea.. you'll get fanboys acting like your game is so exciting.

I am in a Discord with non-fanboys who like this game though *Shrug* They just love horror stuff, and like that GP gives them tons of short games to play. Doesn't work for me, I like big ass open world games. But man I kinda want to be the type of gamer who just plays these short games I'd actually get value out of GP then.

It is like OPM reviewing a Xbox game.

I've been playing this for almost 3 hours.
It's.... very very mediocre average weirdness.
The puzzles are very annoying and there is just crapload of nothing mazes so far.
Combat sucks ass too

Even the high scores reviews says that level design and combat are mediocre.
The good point is that the presentation seems to be great and the performance is good across all platforms (well optimized).

I get around 90fps with 3080 but the stutter is crazy.
It's the most stutter I've seen in a while
And the presentation is extremely samey but intriguing so far.

In Soma, I loved the game already but it became one of my favs when they patched in "safe monsters" option. Remove the annoying crap
