Sega Teasing "New Era New Energy" Announcement at The Game Awards

If it's another Sonic game I'm gonna be hella disappointed. Hopefully it's not another Persona or Yakuza game either. Would be great if it's something with PSO or Jet Set

Xbox and Sega both making a big deal telling everyone to tune in and Peter Moore posted thishopefully it's just me being neurotic.
So probably some new engine and cloud partnership nonsense.
That makes more sense, I hope its nothing to do with an acquisition, because now that I think about it, it wouldn't make sense to announce an acquisition at TGA.
Also it would be way too many "hints", ABK and Bethesda acquisitions were just announced out of the blue with no hints. At worse an acquisition, but maybe they might get an exclusive or some other partnership.
Regardless, Sega is stupid to be working with them so much. It only diminishes their value with each new day 1 gamepass release.
No way it’s a acquisition. They just bought a publisher. It’s practically impossible for them to do that.
More likely it has to with Sega’s cloud development, some new engine tools, or dumb gamepass deal.
Either way, fuck all of Sega.
There’s no reason to assume it’s an acquisition. Could be JSR, new VF or they’re gonna unveil their “super game” or whatever that is. Nobody has ever officially teased an acquisition before.

If they want to put their games on Game Pass, that's fine. It's their money to lose. What I don't want to see is any more preferential treatment for MS by Sega, in any capacity. As a long time Atlus fan, I find that infuriating.

Cutting out the two huge fanbases that Nintendo and Sony represent would be financially unwise, though. Especially for a risky product like a live service game. I'm not saying there's no possibility of that, but it would be strange considering the numbers for Xbox customers and Game Pass subscribers are so low comparatively speaking.
But with SEGA decision-makers being a combination of day-drinkers and a traumatic brain injury ward, odds are good that they will do something really dumb.
Considering some of their decisions, yeah, dumb choices cannot be ruled out. Still, the only way I can see an exclusive for Xbox from them is if MS heavily subsidizes it. Whether MS is willing to do that or not is questionable now that they're raising prices and trimming rewards to recoup the money from their acquisitions and related increased operating costs.
